Wig a secret key to marital bliss

There is a requirement in Judaism that married women cover their hair. This is the reason why Orthodox Jewish women have such magnificent hair. They wear wigs.

It is hard to overestimate the importance of great-looking hair. Image stylists claim that hair and shoes are two items of people’s attire that are most important for creating a good first impression. When a person has great hair they look great, no matter what else they are wearing, barring some extreme cases. The opposite is also true: poor hair will spoil the image like nothing else. This must be the reason why I don’t find the current image of Miley Cyrus to be attractive in the slightest.  It is actually painful to look at her. It is even more so, because she previously looked lovely with long wavy locks softly falling on her shoulders. She used to be hot, but now she... well, looks like a boy with breasts. One person, two images: one image is cute and sexy, another comical.

Think about it: one person two images. Obviously, as performing artists would tell you, there can be more than just two images... And, as actors and spies would attest, the quickest and easiest way to drastically change your appearance is to put on a wig and sunglasses. It is also the most cost-effective way. A realistic wig that would pass for real hair under most conditions can be obtained for about $100 or less. Ebay is your friend. Your appearance can be altered drastically within a few seconds if the wig is of different color, hair length and style to your real hair. If you also wear a different outfit, even your friends and family would have difficulty recognising you.  To achieve a similar drastic transformation through a traditional makeover (as seen on TV) would require services of a professional stylist, a lengthy appointment with a hairdresser and a makeup artist.

Hairstyles is of course a fascinating subject, but now I am about to go on a tangent and explore more serious matters – specifically marital happiness. What are the main challenges to a happy relationship?  One can mention finances, mutual respect and ability to compromise, among other things... And then of course men have a wondering eye. The author of this article (http://www.glamour.com/sex-love-life/2010/05/jake-the-guilty-little-secret-he-hides-in-bed
) tells how he meets his dream girl and only a month later he finds himself fantasizing about other women while having sex with her. He was able to be totally besotted with her for just one month! This is, alas, extremely common and according to this psychologytoday.com blog post quite innocent coping mechanism (http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/insight-is-2020/201208/during-sex-is-it-okay-fantasize-about-someone-elsewhy
) .  One may ask, “coping with what mechanism?”  Well, nature made males wanting to have multiple partners.  To the male subconscious mind many partners mean lots of babies. In biological terms quantity of offspring is the only measure of success.  Not personal happiness, size of bank balance, not respect and love, just the number of babies. There is nothing funny about this, nor is this a question of morality.  It is just the way of nature and a cruel trick the subconscious mind plays on men.  Hence the “wandering eye.

Some men have affairs and many would like to, 10% of British men admit to having visited prostitutes.  Most were married.  And this is far more problematic. Male infidelity is one of the leading reasons for divorce. Although, falling out of love is currently at No. 1 cause,

the two causes are obviously related.

So, it would seem that playing with wigs and creating different images of yourself may give that “wandering eye” something to look at and hopefully prevent “falling out of love” phenomenon.
